ARGENTINE IDENTITIES (2014) was produced as a complement to the SEEDS for LIFE campaign, to highlight small scale farming as a sustainable alternative to industrial agriculture. By featuring a few rural and indigenous communities under the cultural angle, the campaign provides a spotlight for small-scale farmers whose work and sustainable agricultural practices are contributing to the conservation of biodiversity, and the consolidation of local economies.
SEEDS for LIFE is BIOPHILIA’s awareness campaign, produced to expose the human cost of industrial agriculture in Argentina. The initiative contributed to raise awareness of the struggle of hundreds of rural families who are dealing with cancer and birth defects, as the result of continued exposure to pesticides. SEEDS for LIFE had a positive impact among the community involved in the initiative, and contributed to improve regulation on pesticide use on a local level.
